NOWHERE: Imagining The Global City

NOWHERE was large-scale exhibition at the Netherlands Fotomuseum, presenting decades of work by Frank van der Salm. Driven by the artist's meticulous organization of his work, the exhibition uses a custom AI model to travel through his vast body of work, as well as the museum's own collection.
The main floor of the exhibition features a massive video wall visualizing a network of tags layered with the artist's photographs.
The Netherlands Fotomuseum invites its exhibitors to curate the museum collection in a series called "The Collection Illuminated by...". Each of the three screens applies the AI model to a different collection: van der Salm's work, the museum collection, and images scraped from Instagram.
